About Mek Out

Some days are heavier than others. Some nights stretch longer than they should. And sometimes, all it takes to get through is knowing that someone, somewhere, has felt what you are feeling, and found their way to the other side.

That is what Mek Out is for.

Mek Out is a community letters project created by WISH, the Wadadli Initiative for Self-care and Healing, a community wellness organisation based in Antigua and Barbuda. This space was built for anyone who is struggling, anyone who feels unseen, and anyone who simply needs a quiet place to land.

Here, you will find letters written by real people from across our community and beyond. Ordinary people who have sat in the dark, who have doubted themselves, who have wondered whether things would ever get better. They wrote these letters for you. Not because they have all the answers, but because they made it through, and they want you to know that you can too.

There are no experts here. No clinical language. No pressure to be okay before you are ready. Just honest words, offered freely, from one human being to another.

If you have walked through something difficult and come out the other side, we invite you to write a letter of your own. You do not need to share your name. You do not need to be a writer. You only need to mean it.

And if you are in the middle of the hard part right now, we are glad you are here. Keep reading. Mek out. You will get through this.
